My girlfriend and I do not see eye to eye on the subject of when our son should be sent to his bed. For me he should be in bed at 19:30 each evening as a routine. No exceptions. She prefers to keep him up later, partly because that's easier. The problem is that she then goes to bed at about 21:00 and he goes with her, meaning I usually have to scoop him up and move him before I go to bed! Not always the thing you want to do before sleeping, especially if he wakes up and fights over being evicted from our bed. What do you think we should do? For the record, my son is three. He'll be four in August.
Mine go to bed at my 2 - 6 year olds go at 7pm my 10 year old goes at 8pm my 11 year old goes at 9pm my 2 -13 year olds go at 9.30-10pm They definitely need the routine of a stable bedtime
My kids are one and two and I always put them to sleep at 9 pm. Anytime past that they tend to be cranky and uncontrollable. Early bed time just makes it easier for both me and my kids, they get a good nights sleep and I get time without them to relax.
I think he should be in bed by 8:30pm at the latest. I have an idiotic in-law who puts her kids, ages 3 and 8, way after midnight even on school days. I think it's abuse. But you're right on with getting your son to sleep at a reasonable hour.
