    Which medication are you on?

How long have you been on it?

    Is it working for you?

I currently take amitriptyline which is prescribed normally for either depression, bedwetting or sleep problems but I take them for sleep problems.

They work a treat I've been taking them for several months now and have them on repeat prescription for when I need them.

However due to the side effect it has on myself which is making me feel very groggy the next day for the whole day I only take them when I really can't sleep.

But it's a small side effect considering they work so well so it's worth it!

Fluoxetine, currently 40mg, coming down from 60, with the view of coming off it gently within one and a half months. Not that the decrease in dosage is really needed, considering it's fluoxitine, but yeah, whatever.

And yeah, not working. I seem to be immune to medication. Been on quite a few types, and nothing ever worked.

Fortunately, I have no need for a regular medication though me and my family always in the power of nature to prevent different ailments. Right now, there are already very convenient ways to take natural alternative medicines and though some prefer to argue on their effectiveness we choose to ride on the bandwagon and experience its effectiveness firsthand. Getting natural is just logical because humans are part of nature -- not unless we are synthetic which of course we are not!

I take 60 mg. of Cymbalta for depression and take 0.10 mg of Valium as needed for anxiety. I don't like taking the valium because it makes me so tired. Before I was diagnosed with Sleep Apnea (I wear a Cpap now), a Psychologist I was going to at the time prescribed Seroquel XR (I think that's what it was) for me to take at bedtime. I was so scared to take it because I don't like medication, but I went ahead and took it that night at about 8PM. Well, I slept for 19 hours straight! It scared my husband pretty bad because I didn't even get up to pee. I guess the sleep apnea mixed with the Seroquel made me sleep so long. I gave her the samples that she give me back and told her never again..haha. Thank God I survived.

Regular exercise could help a lot, too, especially when you're in the process of reducing your meds. Exercise boosts serotonin in the brain - the "feel good chemical" released by the body and sent by the neurotransmitters to the hypothalamus. Dark chocolate also helps in the production of this chemical.
