Can anyone give me any advise or am i on the wrong site?

    Hi Mystic,
    Welcome to the forum
I totally understand where you are coming from on this and it is very hard to get round things once you have stopped once and started to do it again.
The professionals are there to help you hun, speak with you health visitor and she will help you along..Is it the baby that has brought all these feelings on..I know you say you have manic depression has no-one ever talked to you about what it all means?
Has anyone mentioned postnatal depression to you ?
what have you tried to do when things are starting to get out of control or even when you feel it starting?

You are on the right site.

First of all welcome to minglebb I'm the director here if you ever need anything just give me a shout I will gladly help with anything.

I fully understand the situation you are in, you must understand that just because you harm doesn't make you a bad person or parent for that matter it,s just about breaking the cycle of using SI as a coping strategy. I know what it feels like to be scared to talk to others through fear of judgement and I'm not going go lie to you people do judge we're all human and make personal judgements about everyone. I would ask yourself though who can judge you? Who has the right to? Everyone has done things they aren't proud of everyone has something to be judged about so don't be scared talking to the professionals if it's going to help in the long run! People in those professions tend to be there for a reason and may even be able to relate to you with certain issues.

Don't beat yourself up your going through a hard time at the moment but hold on for the hope of a better tomorrow each day.

If you want a rainbow you gotta out up with the rain so Dolly Parton says she is a very wise woman.

If you wanna talk some more please don't hesitate to post you came to the right place.
  2. my health visitor knows so does the doctors and ive been with a head doctor for over two years now and it seems nothing is helping. its not the baby that has brought it on its many things and half of it is hard to talk about, with how bad my depression is i forget what my doctor has said what manic depression is and been told that ive had post-natal depression for 6years now and i have never gotten over it, ive tried breathing and counting to 10 and tried doing other stuff like washing or going for a walk but when i get back i feel 10x worse and plus my ex is always breathing down my neck and starting arguements

Sorry to hear nothing is working for you
What meds are you on? Have you ever tried writing how you truely feel without being scared about how bad your language is or how awful it is ....just let everything out? This isnt for anyone to see, it is just for you to know about and then shred it as though you are shredding some of the bad in your life..

As for your self injury sometimes it takes some time to find the right distraction and also it may need more than one working hand in hand with each other. I had to use a band on my wrist, the diary and a doodle pad. If I didnt do all 3 then it wouldn't work for me.
  3. Ive been told to write a day 2 day dairy and once one book is finished Ive got to let my head doctor read it so he knows what is really going on, I'm on Mirtazpine at the moment as the other tablets were making me really ill.

Keep the diary up that you are doing for your dr but do this other which is only like 1 sheet just when you feel like you are starting to drop, write what starts it and how you feel and what you feel about feeling that way then tear it up straight away.

Aww how long have you been on the Mirtazapine?
  4. I'll give that ago that might help out alot :) and ive been on them since Thursday last week got to give them 2 weeks to kick in then I'm straight on the highest dose of 75mg from what my doctor said.

Im glad you are going to give it a try :) well done for taking that step :)

As for the meds, yeah they take a couple of weeks to kick in and often the worst part of the side effects happen within those 2 weeks and if you can hold out and cope with the side effects then gradually as your body gets used to them the side effect ease.

Please keep talking here, we are here for you
