Would you or have you tried any alternative medications for your depression?

    What have you tried?

How long have you or did you use them?

    Did they work for you?

I stopped taking some medication I was prescribed because it made me feel like a Zombie and myself and the doctor came to the agreement that medication wasn't right for me.

However I've recently decided to undergo a healthy eating programme so even though it's not really a medication I've been told healthy food and a different diet should help to improve my mood.

More food such as fish is meant to have a positive effect on mood and emotion. Though I'm not 110% convinced but when I start and have been on it for awhile I will let you all know how it's going lol.

Tried St. John's Wort for its calming effect. It helped too; it doesn't make you so drowsy. I only take it when I feel the need.

I have used Bach rescue remedy that works well and it really helps me to chill out when stressed

There are now -- on different pharmacies and of course online health shop -- various natural preparations to help people suffering from depression to help manage their problem. Please talk to your doctor for the possibility of availing natural products. It is your right to know. As a starter, you can search more on herbs St. John's Wort and Kava Kava.

not for depression but for sleep instead of getting sleeping tablets i was given Melatonin which is a chemical in your brain the controls the sleep/wake cycle telling you when to sleep and wake up it actually worked and since its naturally in your brain anyway its not a bad think to be taking
