What do you all think it means when the girl doesn't want the guy to pay (even when he asked her out)? Is this a form of rejection? Maybe a sign of the times?
Definitely not rejection. For me...personally...I don't like to allow someone to pay my way because I don't want to deal with the possibility that there could be strings attached. I like to pay my own way so I won't feel obligated to do something that I'm uncomfortable doing. For years...a guy was willing to 'wine and dine' a woman and he usually had his own agenda when he did that. The question is... What does a guy want when he spends money on a female? Maybe we are talking about a sign of the times when a woman decides that she can't be bought.
I used to do that, but that was when I was in high school and it felt like it was my bf's dad paying for us. That's just weird. I would have accepted it if he had earned the money itself and wanted to spend it on me.
