What do you think the worst way to break up with someone is?

Personally I think the worst way would be through a text. I mean there nothing worst than to open up a message and find out that your partner no longer wants to be with you. I myself have broken up with someone through a text and at the time really didn't care about it much. However now that I look back on it I really regret that I did it the way I did. I've always wanted the chance to apologize to her but, I haven't seen her since then. The worst part about it is afterward she said we could still be friends.:(

    Ouch killer.

I agree I think any way which isn't to there face whether this be via email, phone or through a friend etc is a cowards way out of splitting with someone. I think if you have been with someone for awhile it's common decency to do it to there face to give them a chance to ask questions and say how they feel.

If someone took to me what I see as the cowards way out and doing it via phone or text etc I would have doubts whether they ever cared about me at all.

Fair enough you can't always do it to there face or via phone due to circumstances so I'm not saying everyone is a coward I'm saying if you could have done it to there face then that probably is the best way.

Sigh.. Reminded me of my first relationship.
It wasn't a good one to start out with, I only talk to her online and through text messages. When I meet her up we don't really talk. Things got really bad and eventually she asked me whether it's over on MSN, right after badmouthing me on her blog. It was ugly..

I could have done things better but I never really had any experience so I didn't know what to do. Meh.

I think the worst way to be broken up with is through a text BY A FRIEND! I think it is horrible being broken up with over a text, or having a mutual friend notify you. Having a mutual friend notify you that you are now single over a text combines all the horrors of every method.

I think text is the worst way. Which seems to be the majority vote here! I've never had to experience someone breaking up with me through text (thank goodness) and I haven't done it to anyone, but I can imagine how it feels.

You could just pretend you never got the text.

Call the person like "Oh hey, how you doin?" or meet up with them and they'll be like "Didn't you get my text?" and you can be like "Nope what text" and force them to do it to your face.

Probably the reason I did it. My earlier relationships sucked because of my lack of experience so I and they suffered a lot of discomfort and heart break.

    High agree with you!

    I feel so bad now I wished I haven't done it. =/
Too late to say anything now I guess. I think she still hates me..

Don't feel bad nobody can judge you ever, nobody has a right to judge you.
Plus as Jesus says he who is without sin throw the first stone.
We've all messed up in life anyone who says they haven't is lying.
People make mistakes you've made yours don't dwell on it just learn from it and don't do it again!

The Walk Away + 'It's Over' Break-up (Abstract?)

It's avoiding the person who loves you (I just don't know if you still 'love' that person) and then just letting her know (from the frequent ignores) that the relationship is over.

Most guys would do it by SHOWING to the girl that he already has another one. The girl goes like 'Huh? Who is she? What did I do?'

It takes months and months (minimum) and, eventually, years to recover. :(

How I wished you told me what I did wrong. :(

In my opinion, the worst is not communicating at all that the relationship already ended. And this happened to some which lead to non-closure of the relationship. Texting is even better you finally know the real score.

I have to say the worst way to break up with someone must be via Facebook post.. Now that has to hurt

  8. Level 2 Mingler 20%

I agree with the text thing. If you absolutely need to break up with someone over text because you lack confidence, you should at least prepare them for it with the whole "We need to talk" thing, have a mini conversation first, y'know?

  9. Level 3 Mingler 40%

I say do it the Donald Trump way. That is, simply say, "Boo, you fired." At least if the other one is the problem anyway. :)

But seriously though, that might be the worst way. Well.. No probably not. ;)

Text is the most disrespectful and cowardly way to do it, luckily I've never been dumped this way, and would never break up with anyone this way. I have no respect for people who do it this way.

I have been married for 11 years, together with my husband for 14 years so it's been a very long time since I have been in the "dating" field..lol But I would have to agree that breaking up with someone through a text message would be the absolute worst way. I actually have a cousin who's ex girlfriend did this to him. She texted him at 8 AM one morning and told him to have a good day and that she loved him, and then 30 minutes later sent a text message to him telling him it was over. He was beyond heartbroken.

Depending on his time schedule (if he gets up around that time or later,) what a bad idea for her to do it at that time. Nice way to start his day... Especially sending a positive message 30 minutes before. Was she moody or something?

I believe that the worst way to break up with someone is changing your Facebook relationship status from "In a Relationship" to "Single" without even talking to the person beforehand! Believe me, I have had it happen to me before, and it is kinda suprising!

I know, right! Yeah he was already up I believe and getting ready to go to work himself. He replied to her from what I understand and told her he loved her too and to have a good day..then 3o minutes later, bam..she dumped him. He had bought a house for the both of them and had gotten attached to her child and everything. It really tore him up. He's like a brother to me instead of a cousin, so it was so sad seeing him like that. She ended up getting with some other guy not long after they split and now they live together. Guess she was confused?

I dont think thats the worst breakup method.
The worst one shall be that your partner is caught while having a cheating on you.
