Do you think MySpace can ever recover now with the success of FaceBook.

I mean when FaceBook started to over take MySpace you could see MySpace trying to fight back they re-designed all there site and pretty much added every feature FaceBook had but they never managed to recover.

What do you think the future is for MySpace now?

Well they get there money from advertisers and such a huge drop in how many people do use it because they have gone over to FaceBook must be concerning for advertisers which means a huge loss in funds for MySpace which surly means they will have to get rid of servers or hardware to compensate.

If you were an advertiser who would you rather advertise with MySpace or FaceBook business is business.

thats true it would be FaceBook since more people use it it will be hard for myspace to recover but not impossible

I think MySpace is gradually dying off and I don't think that it will recover when it does. If you listen to every day conversation you will and you can hear Facebook pop up but it is very rarely that you hear about MySpace.

Also you hear things in the news about Facebook, whether it be good publicity or bad publicity it is still publicity.

I think that eventually they will sell it to a bigger company like Microsoft or Google, because they are almost dead right now. Yes, still many people use it, but it's not enough. I think that Facebook will take over every single social site out there, it's growing exponentially.

In regards to advertising FaceBook completely fails in that department and always has. I know many a webmaster who has used them for paid advertising only to find that the ROE did not even cover his investment for the ads in the first place.

FaceBook just offers good free advertising with the business pages you can create, outside that they do not have much going for them in that regard.

MySpace I do believe died because they did not innovate, you can't stay static and expect it to last forever, especially in today's ADHD ridden world :p

I think they can make a come back once they figure out what the next big thing is, once they find it you will see a major surge back, just like when FaceBook surged forward when they added all their new things and opened the doors to everyone.

    Time will tell.

Doesn't matter how much Myspace tries to copy Facebook, they are never going to be the same. Myspace' day has come and gone. Besides, there were too many creeps and weirdos on Myspace and they did very little to stop them from harassing under aged kids. Facebook is a little bit better about policing the behavior of users on their site. But, they also encourage people to share WAY too much.

Facebook is at its peak now, but we don't know what will happen to it in the future. Friendster was also getting the high scores before, but look, it's now exiting from cyberspace. It has made a formal announcement that it's members should now transfer their important files to their hard disks because they will be deleting everything very soon.

Oh how I remember the Myspace craze. The only thing I miss about Myspace is how you could customize your page so easily and add a music player to it and all. I changed my background with the same frequency that most people change their underwear ;) Seriously, I think Myspace is done. I'm sure there are still some people who frequent it, but it's dropping drastically probably. Facebook is even getting old to me. I never got into Twitter much, but I do have an account there.

I've tried getting into Facebook. One of my best online friends hangs out at Facebook almost all day, except when she's updating her blogs. And, really I don't see what the attraction is. Sure, she has friends there. But, really isn't that what forums are for? You find a forum that you really like and invite friends and hang out talking all day. To me, Facebook just seems so inconvenient. It's not like a regular forum at all.

MySpace will never be able to recover the miles it lost forever to Facebook and other social sites. I think MySpace made a good decision of refocusing its attention and energy with music and artists. it is now going into a good niche instead of fighting a generalist like Facebook. I still have an account in MySpace which I rarely use these days.

I've always like Myspacy more than Facebook, all Facebook is; Is a boring and less creative version of Myspace. They'll be back on top sooner or later.

I did have a MySpace account but never really used it. :) Visited it 3x ever since I created my account. So, I'm not sure how popular it used to be. O.O For me Facebook is losing its amour. I got bored to it as time passes but I'm not sure about Myspace being able to make a good come back. :alien:

I'm sure Myspace will stay up, but I don't think it will ever recover. I barely hear anyone talk about it nowadays. Everyone asks for your facebook now, not your myspace. I think it's because facebook is so much easier to use. You don't have to worry about designing anything or making it look good.

MySpace is real desperate now for members, so desperate they've even put a Like button on the site. Yes, it's true, go visit some time.
In my opinion they will never be able to conquer Facebook unless they really innovate. Like, pay attention to details and simplicity.
Personally I prefer Twitter over them all, but I do check Facebook once in a while.

Well it was inevitable that MySpace would die off. The moment Facebook came into the picture that should have been apparent. However, something else always comes along. Eventually, something will kill of Facebook in the same manner it's doing to MySpace.

MySpace was tacky and was basically a central point for people who couldn't make those awful homepages that dominated in the late 90s. Then Facebook came along, and was less tacky, so I think it drew people in. I think MySpace should abandon the social networking scene and instead go with online storage. MySpace sounds like an online storage type of place.

Myspace is no longer a place for the average person but it's a great hub for musicians. Most if not all indie artists have a myspace page. Facebook is on it's last straw with the crap it has pulled during the last 2 years. Too many scams, spams, viruses, privacy issues, and layout changes. I can't wait to see what will replace it.

Myspace died out a long time ago. There is no way its going to recover. The only solace they can take is in the fact that sooner or later Facebook will be overtaken by something else and be stuck in the cellar right there with them.
