With the global popularity of the internet, there is a new map drawn between an online business and those who are still in the purely traditional brick and mortar type. If you are relying heavily online for the life of your business, then you are taking advantage of the power and reach of the internet to make you money and hopefully get filthy rich in the process.

On the other hand, when we talk of the traditional business we are talking of a business that capitalize more on the old way of making money. This can be a convenience store operated by mom and dad or a small food business on the corner relying on the foot traffic as source of clients.

Recognizing the power of the internet, thousands of businesses who established their wealth with the traditional way of doing it are now rushing and cashing on the net. According to Bill gGtes, if you are not doing business online or if your business has no online presence, then you are not doing business at all. Of course, he is predicting a kind of future we are heading into.

Being someone new to the whole making money on the internet opportunty I don't see how anyone starting a business or currently operating a business could survive without an online presence. My entire life my father has worked for himself, He was a licensed contractor until an accident and recession forced him out of business. He is the one who gave me the independant work spirit and said " If you can harness the power of the internet the possibilities are unlimited, unlike in the past where you were limited by location for the most part in starting a new business with the web the world is your location.

Traditional businesses still hold a place in todays world. There will always be a need for physical goods so the brick and mortar businesses will always have a place.
