What movie would you consider the scariest?

For me I have to say Paranormal Activity that film scared the hell out of me, but as a kid The Poltergeist scared me I hated it, I can't remember it to this day the only bit I remember was the little girl sitting in front of a static TV which scared me for some reason.

And Interview with A Vampire scared me I actually stopped breathing whilst watching this film and my gran had to take me outside and hit me on the back to get me breathing again.

So it really did literally nearly scare me to death!!! haha :)

    Which films really scared you?

Paranormal Activity was the worst horror movie I had ever seen it was just dumb! No horror movie ever really scared me but it and the first original Freddy came close when I was younger.

The Exorcist has to be one of the scariest movies of all time. Watching this movie and keeping the fact that this movie was made in 70s in mind make it all that much scarier. I can't imagine how bad this scared people back then if it still scares me today. I consider my generation to be a number generation to horror, blood, and etc but this movie still gives me the creeps every single time.

I thought The Ring was pretty scary, the first one. After I went home that day I kept thinking the little girl was going to come out of my t.v. lol.

Starship Troopers was a very horrific movie, if only cause there were so many killings going on. For the most part, the giant bugs freaked me out. No one likes to see bugs in their kitchen, much less a whole planet of blood thirsty bugs that want to kill off humanity. The film had so many gross-out scenes with blood and guts and people being ripped apart. It was almost too much to watch.

My other favorite horror film was Pitch Black, though some people will say that's more sci-fi. Again, the killer bug theme was working strong in this movie. Lots of killing. I watched this movie at least five times in one weekend. Of course, I stopped just before the end of the movie and went back to the start to watch again. I didn't know how it ended until after the fifth time restarting the movie. Then, I didn't watch Pitch Black again for ten years.

When I watched Ring I was scared to hell. I even feared to go to the washroom for one week.

Sarah Michelle Gellar was really good in 'The Grudge'. At least I think that was her. Really loved that final scene in the mortuary where the nurse was the dead girl. That was awesome. But, I gotta say, I saw it coming.

The movie that really scared me most was 'The Ring', if only cause it had world class acting talent and that's not something you usually get with horror movies.

I watched 'The Ring' in the daytime and still got chills.

Later on, I watched 'The Ring' again at night and had a more intense reaction. That scene where the girl climbs out of the TV and drags herself over to kill the guy in the room was horrifying. I was holding my face, watching through my fingers and yelling, "Don't just sit there!" over and over again. I don't even think I realized what I was doing at the time. That's what I get for watching horror movies alone at night.

It was a horrible experience. Still don't like to think about it. Probably won't watch again for that reason.

Paranormal Activity was just funny, I don't get how people find it scary.

The Ring freaked me out afterwards, when my TV got white noise I'd be terrified. The Descent is another good shout.

This might be surprising, but I didn't find Paranormal Activity scary at all. I liked the Grudge series. Those movies scared the sh*t out of me. Ring series was also good, but I'd still rate Grudge as the best. Other than raw horror, A nightmare at the Elm Street was the best slasher horror I ever saw.

On another note, I think documentaries like Supersize Me and Food Inc. are "scary" in that they reveal haunting facts about our world today. But if we're going strictly horror movies, I can't really answer that. I'm too chicken to watch. :)
