Anybody listen to Japanese music here?
I got hooked on pretty much after listening to xJapan's ballad songs. Mostly because of most Japanese songs are poetic, and they actually don't copy other songs like how most of chinese songs does.

My daughter loves watching Spice and Wolf (the anime series-- dubbed) and they have a beautiful Japanese song at the start of the show called "Tabi no Tochū" sung by Natsumi Kiyoura. It's one of the most hauntingly beautiful songs I've ever heard. And, the translation of the words are truly poetic. As you say, the Japanese songs are poetic, like no other. Often, my daughter sings along, mimicking the words, though she does not speak Japanese. I'm going to try to find actual lyrics for the song. I think she'd like that.

I used to listen to Japanese songs a lot and memorize lyrics. However, I got hooked with KPop and started listening more to Kpop instead of Jpop. :p I like the beat and rhythm of Korean music.. However, I like Japanese Songs as opening and closing songs of my favorite Japanese Animations. :D

I mainly listen to the openings and endings to anime. Occasionally I'll find a new band this way, then listen to the rest of their music. I just typically prefer Japanese music to western music because I find the music to be more tolerable. Popular Western music especially makes me sad.
