Often we see that celebrities whether they are from sports or entertainment industry endorse the lifestyle products in advertisements by getting huge amount of money. Now Advertisers think that followers of that particular celebrity will go for the advertised product and purchase it. Now what do you feel about this, do you really purchase a product just because your favorite celebrity is endorsing it? or you go by the quality and cost of the product.
I wouldn't know since I don't watch television. I know that Peyton and Eli Manning promote Oreos, but I've been eating those since I was a kid. I think I might pay attention to a charity that a celebrity might promote, like St. Jude's, but I'm not going to rush out and buy something because some famous person tells me to.
Yeah but that's just it. Many people DO live and die by what a Celebrity tells them to do. Case in point, Opera Winfrey.
I guess we all buy something that a celeb endorses. Even if we are not doing it because we like that celeb we can not help it. If i like a product i will buy it. The only time a celeb might change my mind about buying a product is if they have done something that i do not agree with. I will not be buying Subway for a while because they just gave an award to Michael Vick. Not cool in my book.
Your very first sentence is a generalization. We don't all buy something that a celebrity endorses, for the simple reason that celebrities only endorse products for which they've been paid huge amounts of money. There are hundreds of quality products for which the manufacturers can't afford to advertise through celebrity endorsements. I don't buy anything at all based on any sort of advertising. That is to say, my decision to purchase anything does not depend on how it is promoted. But that doesn't mean I will stop using a product I like merely because it is endorsed by someone I don't like. Doing that would simply mean I'm still influenced by endorsements.
It really doesn't matter to me because I have this squishy thing in my head called a brain and can't be easily influenced by mere people with a little fame that we like to call celebrities. In other words, it doesn't matter. As long as the product is good and I can use it, I'll buy it no matter who endorses it.
I guess the question only goes for young adults who are following a trend. I do admire celebrities but not to the extent I am obsessed with their endorsements. In fact, I always look more on the quality rather than the face posted on the wall smiling back at me.
Not really. I guess it's because I realize that they're just getting paid to speak a few words. I seriously doubt most of them even know what to do with the products they're endorsing. Usually, I just do my own research and look for credible reviews.
Unlike any of you, I have absolutely no brain. Therefore, I love buying what my favorite celebrity endorses. I buy the beverage and junk food she takes in the commercials because I truly believe that's what she eats in real life. I also support the charities and causes she talks about. My fashion sense is as ridiculous and off the top just like hers because just like she said, I was truly born this way Hehe ok enough of Madonna..oh oops I mean... nevermind, what was I gonna say?
I'm kind of a skeptic. I usually purchase of brands or companies I know. If it's not a company I know I will research the company and/or the product or service before making a decision.
