Today, I was eating a chicken sandwich and realized there was a long hair in my mouth.

Turned out to be my hair and the hair was actually still attached to my head! Now that's a first. :D

I should've stopped to brush my hair away from my face before eating. Just busy thinking, I guess.

Do you ever get hair in your food? At home? In a restaurant? Does it make you queasy or do you take it out and keep right on eating?

Hairs don't bother me. I have a cat who will put her face in my food if it smells good to her, so every so often I have to pick out a hair. I wouldn't eat it though. I have seen hairs in my food that probably belonged to a factory worker. Its a little gross but I just pick it out and finish my food.

I'm just the opposite. I have to force myself to keep eating the food afterward, even if it's my own hair in the food. It's not so much that I find the hair in the food to be disgusting so much as it activates my gag reflex if the hair gets down into my throat and I have to cough it up. Today, it didn't bother me so much, but it was funny considering how the hair was still attached to my head. I need some hair barrettes or something. :p

Yes, it's really not good to find hair in our food. hehe. I understand what you feel. If its only my hair, I will try finish my food. But if it outside on in the restaurant I will not continue eating and in some occasion I will return my food and they replace it.

Most definitely! In the states, kitchen workers are usually required to wear a hat or hair net or something to keep hair out of food. But, some places don't follow regulations. I would certainly return the food and ask for something else or just not eat there at all, since you don't know what other health code violations they are making behind the scenes.

I get it in my food all the time. Sometimes I wish I wouldn't mind just shaving my head. My hair is always getting in/on things. It is not a very good feeling having a hair going through the food in your mouth. Especially if your in a public restaurant and hoping that it is your own.

Have you ever gotten a hair to get down into your throat? I have and that is not fun either. Will make you gag and about vomit.

Eeewwww!! I have never found a hair in food that I purchased or maybe I just have not noticed it LOL. In food from home I think I have but I don't remember a specific time. If it is my hair then I will just take it out and keep on eating. It's not the hair that is gross, just the way it feels in my mouth that makes me gag. If it's not mine then no way am I eating that food, I would rather throw it away.

Yeah, I'm the EXACT same way. Once I feel that hair in my mouth, I started gagging. Of course, I try to take the hair out. There's no reason to leave a hair in the mouth cause you can't swallow it. But, usually the hair is so far down my throat, it makes me gag unbelievably.

Sometimes, even if there is no hair, but I've just stuffed too big of a bite in my mouth, the gag reflex will start and I have to cough up my sandwich.

Of course, I'm not talking about actual vomit, just spitting the food out of my mouth into the trash.

When I was a kid, I did that all the time. Never let my mom see me do that cause it would have hurt her feelings and then made her mad that I was spitting up her food. How could she understand about the gag reflex situation? Anyway, even to this day, whenever I get down to the last bite of food, I feel queasy and know better than to eat it cause it's going to make me gag.

I hate that feeling when you've taken a bit out of something and there's hair. And then you start to pull it out.

It's happened to me before. Once I find that one hair strand, I continue eating, but I am very cautious and start examining the food for more.

I've personally not found a hair in my food. But I was there when my friend found a hair in her taco.
Luckily, it was poking out of the meat so she noticed it right away and didn't eat any of it.
Never going to Taco Bell again.

I've spent four and a half years in fast food so there have actually been multiple times that I have seen this happen. Most often it is because grooming standards are not followed and hair isn't worn correctly. It is my least favorite complaint to deal with because it is such a mainstream level of gross. Fortunately I have never had to deal with hair in my own food, and I always check just in case.

It totally turns my stomach if I find a hair in my food. Especially if it's not mine. :cautious: It is because of this very reason that I will never eat at Golden Corral again. Not only was there a ton of hair in my food, but it was baked into the bread pudding. Totally disgusting.

    Ewwww.. I love Golden Corral..but that's just nasty..lol.

I've found hair in my food before. It's gross. First I try to convince myself it's just mine..but it never works. lol.

Yes, that is much too gross. What really makes me wanna puke is when the hair is curly. So gross and makes me so mad!

I found a BIG hair in my food at Mcdonalds once, turns out it was my friends hair who worked there.

Felt kind of weird talking to her after eating her hair.

I have found hair in my food, but it's always from own head. :p Sometimes I would even accidentally take a bite out of a lock of my own hair (that's still attached to my own head) if I forget to brush my hair back before eating. And moments like that sometimes make me want to cut my hair short.
