Do you go barefoot in the house?

I do go barefoot in the house. But, I shouldn't cause I have four very messy cats, one of which makes it a point to mess up the carpet on occasion. She's just a baby, I don't place blame. She can't help it. Anyway, I should wear slippers or something like that, just so I won't have to walk around on bare floor and carpet. And, usually during the winter time, I do wear slippers, just not in summer time.

Do you wear slippers in the house? Socks? Do you go barefoot?

Im a barefoot person, doesn't matter if it's winter or summer im always barefoot. My husband goes mad because I often stub my toe on things or manage to stand on something and then complains it hurts lol, but Im the same for outside too. I won't put shoes on in either of the gardens or putting wheelie bins out. All the kiddies are the same too, none of them wear slippers or socks. There is only my husband who does.

I'm sure your husband grew up in a house where everyone was wearing shoes and slippers indoors; that's why he still does it and it drives him nuts when everyone else doesn't. It's usually an acquired habit. And, your kiddies are just taking after their mama. You don't wear them, so they don't either. Same for me. I don't usually wear shoes or socks ever, except when my toes are freezing in winter. We don't have central heat, just box heaters, so the floor is almost always cold in the kitchen. My CC is the same way. She refuses to wear shoes indoors. Even when she got a splinter in her toe last year, she wouldn't wear flip flops in the house afterward to protect her sore foot. Just wouldn't do it. The child loves her bare feet. :p

I don't go barefoot except in the mornings when I've just gotten up. Usually I just wear socks so I'm comfortable and I don't have to worry about getting my feet dirty.

The dirty feet issue is a problem with me too. I don't like walking around the house and then getting into bed if I haven't just showered, cause I get dirt and debris (from the carpet) all over the covers. My cats track a lot of stuff around the carpet. It's a constant battle keeping up after them, sort of like four toddlers running around all at once.

Mostly, I got out of wearing shoes when I was pregnant and we were living in a house that didn't have carpet, just stone tile floor. And, I almost slipped down twice. After that, I took off the shoes and found surer footing with my naturally bare feet.

No, I wear socks. I pretty much wear socks all the time except when in the shower. I have nice laminated wood floors that I can slide across.

When I was a kid I am always barefoot inside or outside the house. We had a bamboo floor before and everyone is not allowed to bring their slippers in. But when I grew up and our house turned to have a concrete floor, I always wear slipper inside the house. . My legs is get painful if I will walk on a floor especially if there is nothing on it like a carpet or such thing.

Oh! That sounds like fun. Sort of like Tom Cruise in 'Risky Business?' What fun that must be. If my kid knew she could slide across the linoleum floor in her socks, she'd be in there all day doing that. Thankfully, she hasn't figured that out yet. :D

Well I would if I did not have kids that make a mess everywhere. They are still small and I am just starting to teach them how to clean up after themselves. There are also toys everywhere and I would not want to step on one OUCH!

My daughter was the exact same way as a very very young child. She was constantly taking things out and leaving them there. And, for us, it was an actual hazard, cause we had hard stone tile floors and if you step on a toy or paperback book, your foot slides out from under. It's not like with carpet, where there's some friction for the foot. With stone tile, it's a dangerous situation. So, I was constantly running around putting things back in place. Of course, that cut into our play time cause I was cleaning. Now that she's somewhat older, I can ask her to clean up the mess she is making. I'm not saying she likes cleaning up her mess, but she is the one making it, so only fair she should pitch in and help clean it. Still, I'm just as likely to help out with the clean up.

I go barefoot pretty much all the time. I am barefoot now. I don't like wearing socks around without shoes as they can begin to get loose and/or fall off eventually. Sometimes if I need to go outside for a couple minutes, I will still go barefoot.

Most podiatrists recommend going without shoes or socks at least some time, especially for children whose feet are still growing and forming. The manmade shoes are very unnatural and prevent the skin from breathing. A manmade shoe can cause the foot to sweat a lot and that can lead to unhealthy bacteria growing between the toes and fungus infections like Athlete's foot. It's a very serious situation.

I was going to say that is one reason that I do not wear shoes but must have forgot. So yes, that is another reason I go barefoot. I don't like to cause unneeded sweat. Eventually it will cause my skin to be irritated. It is almost like wearing a band-aid for long periods.

Yeah, you have to be so careful with your feet cause infection is a real possibility especially if you have diabetes or any condition like that. One of the best ways to keep the feet free of bacteria and infection, aside from going without shoes and socks, is to clean the sole and between the toes with diluted isopropyl alcohol before bed time or after working out. This will remove germs that could infect the toes and feet.

I am a barefoot person. I usually go barefoot in our house.
It's clean in here and we have our helper mop it all the time, so we don't have any worries about hygiene.
Our pets are in a separate home, so it's alright.
I don't go barefoot when I go outside, though. The possibility of infection is sky-high outside.

I'm a barefoot person inside my room.. :p Since I have carpet, I don't like stepping on the carpet with my slippers, I have this impression thats kinda unhygienic. Before I sleep I take a quick shower if not wash my feet before walking on the carpet.. :D I love the feel of carpet below the sole.. :D

We have pets too, just indoor cats and they are not clean little animals, though I love them all. Unfortunately, this is the way I grew up. We even went outdoors with no shoes during the summer time. At least, I did, until I stepped on a yellow jacket in the grass and it stung me. After that, I wasn't such a big fan of going barefoot on soft grass. You never know what's out there lurking beneath the surface of suburbia. :)

No I always wear socks in the house. I don't know if its a fetish, but my feet feel really weird with out wearing socks.

I am definitely a barefoot person. I rarely wear shoes unless I have to, like school or something. Even then, I mostly wear flip-flops. When ever I go out to get the mail or something, I am barefoot.

It really depends for me. Most of the time I am barefoot, but sometimes I have socks or shoes on.
