I have my own business....I have a card making one...I have had it for a good 10 years now lol I was funded through the Princes Trust Foundation http://www.princes-trust.org.uk/

The hardest part of it was constructing a business plan and survey the market for my product.
Then the making of the cards because all of the cards are handmade

I own websites and sell ad space. I would start your own business, they take time to get started but once you do, its much better than working a job.

Having an own business can be a very rewarding experience and a profitable journey. You could never be financially free if you don't stake and fly your own wings! Be guided by your passion and interest in setting up your own business. Funds can be sourced if you are persistent and have already started the basic steps.

Years ago, I owned a carpet cleaning business. And, it required many thousands of dollars in investment just to get the equipment and chemicals, not to mention the cost of the vehicle. Even after advertising heavily, I barely made a fifth of my money back. Now the carpet cleaning equipment is sitting in my garage collecting dust. After that experience, I decided to go another route. Right now, I'm focusing on earning money online through my articles and blogs. To me, THIS is a real home based business. And, it didn't require any investment. I've earned more money with my various online money making efforts than I ever did with my so called home business.
  1. I'm considering to start up my own business but I'm not sure where or how I'd start. Is there any advise anyone can give?

My father is a Self-employed. It is tough at the start but it gets relatively easier to find as time goes by. My father is an electrician and he does lots of wiring. I still remember when he first started out with his business, he had to work on everyday including Sundays and even public holidays!

I have been thinking about starting my own business up for a long time but i havent made it into practice yet :p
I have been thinking about opening up an English training school here in my city. Fund is one problem, but i dont think its the biggest problem for me. The biggest one shall be the source, say, if we can have enough students once i start it up. I think advertisement shall be a part.

Indeed, its not like you are employed by someone else in which case you can have weekend. If emplyed by yourself you will have to work all day long including weekends and i think even in the deep night. It is not that easy.

My Dad started his own English teaching business just by having a website. He lost many clients when the economy tanked and had to take a job as a bartender, but he still teaches English to a few clients. He finds it rewarding. I would say if you want to start a business, don't borrow money, just start small in your neighborhood and see how it goes.
