My all-time favorite is Dragonball Z. I grew up watching it and I've seen every episode from Ball, Z, and GT. Now days Naruto has taken its place. I've seen every episode and read the manga every Wednesday once they release the new issue.
I like watching Spice and Wolf. The show takes place sometime around the middle ages in Europe where a trader named Craft Lawrence happens upon a young wolf girl (actually she's very old but looks like a teen), hiding in his wagon after the wheat harvest. She strikes up a deal with Lawrence to travel with him and help him make lucrative deals in exchange for safe passage back home to the north. Along the way, we find out that she can turn into a huge wolf. That part was a big surprise. My daughter started watching this show when it first came on Netflix online streaming. We would sit together in the living room and watch the show together on TV with the ROKU box. It was our show. We watched every episode from the first season. We talked about the characters and she acted out some of the scenes with her beanie babies. She still refers to herself as Halo wolf sometimes. She likes the idea of being a wolf girl. And, i'm OK with that, cause for now she has given up her snake obsession.
I've watch dragonball Z when I was like 8 years old. One of my favorites. I don't really watch anime now, because the quality of the animation is really bad nowadays so I prefer to read the original Manga. Before that, I watched Naruto, Death Note, Claymore, Kaichou wa Maid-Sama.. And at least another 20 more. Too many to recall. Now I just read The World God Only Knows, Fairy Tail, Naruto, Claymore, To Love-Ru.. There's too many I can't remember, haha. I just go on the manga sites and check their updates.
Same here. I think the quality of animes started going down hill about 5 years ago. My favorite would be Ouran High School Host Club. It's kind of old (2006) but super funny. I'd recommend it to anyone. They are remaking it into a j-drama to air this month but judging by the cast, I don't think it will be any good.
Poll I voted for One Piece, and the Rurouni Kenshin OAV (which was titled Samurai X -shivers at bad name- I guess it depends on the show type and budget. There are some great recent animes out there, stuff like The World God Only Knows, Kaiji, Fullmetal Alchemist (2009), Ao no Exorcist, etc. It's just a shame that most anime nowadays is moe stuff aimed at selling to hardcore fans.
