I've sold a little over 50 items on eBay over a 5 year span. Nothing too major but it does help to get some extra cash in here and there. I just dislike the shipping process and going to the post office.
Ebay used to be great, now its just the pain to sell or buy anything. On top of their ever growing fees, hidden shipping calculations and rampant fraud....ugh I rather not bother.
This in particular the fees it just puts me off. I remember wanting to start a drop shipping business on there and looked into opening a shop but the fees involved made it not worth my while it's extortionate to say the least. On top of that if you did open a business and paying tax and everything well lets just say ebay would be eating all your profit. If I wanted to get rid of something personal I'd use either FaceBook or GumTree ebay just pisses me off.
I will buy things off of eBay, but I have never had much luck selling stuff. Whenever I try to sell something, I notice that usually some powerseller is trying to sell the same thing. They have 10k+ reputation, while I only have a couple. It is hard to compete with those powersellers that seem to be selling extra shipments that arrive at there businesses.
Yea normally at a way better price as well since they tend to buy in bulk. Hence why I said I'd rather sell on Facebook or Gumtree
I occasionally sell on eBay. I only sell my unwanted items to get some extra profit. I do not like eBay that much though because most of the users give you a really hard time. Like I said though, it is good for some extra money.
eBay revolutionized this industry and expanded the concept to the whole world. No wonder sellers are always using eBay. I have meet some super marketers who are making good money with eBay. Though I am not yet into that platform...soon maybe to dispose of things I don't need anymore.
I've bought a few things off eBay but haven't sold anything. I may use it to sell some unwanted books I have, but I don't know if they will sell. I might just post them on Amazon instead. Or I might just sell them through Facebook, like you said.
I remember using half.com back in the day when I needed school books, dunno how good it is now considering it is ebay owned.
I sold quite a few things on eBay. I find eBay quite good sometime because something that you never use can be sold for quite a lot on there. But sometimes it is annoying when you want to sell something and a powerseller sells it for a bit lower than you just because they can afford to buy in bulk, and all you want to do is sell your one item.
I don't have a verified paypal account and so i am not able to sell stuffs on ebay. Is it very profitable selling stuffs on ebay? Just curious ... ...
Guys, if you have items to sell, you're better off using Craigslist. First off, you cut the middle man (ebay), so you don't have all those little fees they tack on. However, there is a little bit of risk involved since without ebay, there is less seller/buyer security. But so far, anytime I've sold my stuff on Craigslist I've had no issue. But if you're not brave enough for Craigslist, you can try Half.com. I've heard a few good things about them.
eBay can make you a lot of money if you have the resources. Pretty much you just need to sell what the buyers want, such as electronics, and you can make a lot of money. It also depends on how cheap you get your products for and then how much higher you sell them for. eBay could be a goldmine but I have not made too much money on it. You really have to devote your time to setting up your eBay business.
So where do you store your items, if you ship stuff worldwide, you need to go to fedex or any shipping company, pay them and fill in the details and let them take over the job. Isn't it very troublesome? I am wondering, does the buyer pay the cost of the item + the shipping fee together or the shipping company would collect the shipping fee from us when it arrives at our doorstep ?
I haven't sold anything on Ebay yet, though I've heard about others who have a thriving part time business doing so. A couple years back, I knew a woman online who sold big lots of name brand baby clothes to other Ebay dealers. She sent me a big box of baby clothes in exchange for designing a couple banners. It was a very lucrative trade. For now, the only time I go to Ebay.com is when I'm looking at cameras or homeschool books for my daughter. They have very good prices on everything. And, though I haven't sold anything there, I wouldn't say no to an Ebay purchase.
I use to sell on Ebay and then I had a horrible experience. The guy said he never received the item and did a paypal dispute and left me bad feedback on ebay. And I know for sure he got the item I just failed to send it with tracking I sent it USPS.
I've never sold anything on Ebay, but I did purchase a few games many years ago. I recently sold some things at a garage sale event. I made about $15, plus I got rid of some clutter. My cousin sells her used clothes on Ebay, with some success.
