So I know there are a few members here from PostLoop. What are your thoughts on the service they offer, I only found them two days ago and as good as it is I have my reservations about it. While I can see it being really good for new forum start ups that has little content or activity for forums like mine that have an all right number of posts and a decent amount of activity I can't see the benefit sure you get a few more posts but is the aim really about posts? After the points are gone members go and you don't gain any long lasting members and surly that's what we want more over posts? Thoughts?
I'm actually brought here by PostLoop.. But I like this forum so I still even post when PostLoop told me this forum was disabled. But to be honest.. I can see some of the members post random questions and short replies just to get the points. My thought is that it does bring in more people here temporary, which is the key to bring in more traffic from other places. But I don't know the amount of money you put in so I can't tell whether it's worth it or not..
I'm not doing so well on Postloop. I've made a lot of posts and have gained a decent amount of points, the problem is the ratings, I seem to not live up to raters standards because I have mediocre posts, but it's not my fault everyone else made the good points first I'm trying my hardest and I only joined because I was desperate for money, seems to have backfired unfortunately, but some day soon I may get a 5.0 Fingers crossed
Thanks for your lovely comments, I really do hope if we ever choose to not use PostLoop that we still see you around. I've only put about $10 into PostLoop for a premium listing to see how that goes so not a huge investment as of yet. I changed my rating on you to 5 stars because No.1 I see your point and No.2 you seem a really nice person that being said I wouldn't use PostLoop to make money it seems rather difficult unless you can post ALOT I'd say there were other ways to make money online, however if you post on forums for fun anyway I'd say it's a great addition but I'd see posting on forums more as a labour of love not a venture to make money. Thanks for the replies so far!
My old forum got a ton of people who spammed my forum for points. I am how ever going to give them a second chance because I seen they have come down on people who spam forums for points. I hope it works out this time.
It is a good way to get your forum popular and get those Google ranking higher! I am using Postloop for my forum and it is working great. I have gotten 21 members from it and around 5 post even when the forum is disabled on Postloop! It is free and works wonders
I am a member of postloop and I do think a lot of members just spam like crazy. I try my best to post good quality comments and discussions in topics that interest me but some of the forums get really boring after a while. If the forum keeps me entertained then I will keep posting in it even after I am not earning in it anymore. So far minglebb is one of my favorites, I have posted like in at least 10 threads here already and just became a member lol. I only have one other favorite from postloop and that one I like because the admin is great and the topics also keep me entertained when I am bored.
The achievement is more short term than long, it generates web traffic to a specific forum for a shot amount of time in hope that it will attract more members due to this increased amount of activity. If that makes sence?
I suppose their a good site, Gets the owner decent forum posts as they know that you wont rate them with a good rating if they give you spammy posts and if they do you can easily report them and damage their rep. And for the posters then its extra money in the bag
I'm a forum owner new to postloop myself (2 days) so I'm right there with you, I put a little money in as well. So far it's been good to get things started, but on day two I had to put some updated rules in my description and raise the minimum level to post. I'm hoping it's possible to attract and maintain the good contributors and get rid of the poor ones, even if I have to kick them out. I agree with you that once your points are gone, few are likely to stay and contribute, however my hope would be that the discussions they did might attract "real" visitors provided you have other means that newcomers will be attracted. Maybe it's good way to liven up the forums periodically if things are slow. If there is another postloop type service that someone likes I can test as well I'd be interested.
I'm using postloops. I like posting on forums, so I thought "why not earn something as well?". Actually, minglebb is the first (and so far the only) forum I'm posting through postloops (except for their portal), and I really loved this place. Well, on my first payout, I'll try to save some money and give it back to you because you really deserve it (and no, I'm not doing this to get a good rating)
Also, set up your rules for the people who are posting and be specific. There should be a little place on there, where you can fill out some info on your forum and that will get read by all the postloop members who want to post on your forum and that's where you put your rules. You might say, post your own discussions (threads) as well as responses, cause that's what you really want is lots of threads started, so when when the postloop members leave, you will still have plenty for future 'real' forum members (as you put it) to respond to. Additionally, you might request that each post be at least 25 words long, that way you will get a couple good lines out of each point you have to give. If you're not specific on the rules, the person will just assume it's OK to post a little three word answer. And, that's just going to waste your points.
